Privacy Policy

1. Who we are
ParsleyHR (“ParsleyHR,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the ParsleyHR applicant tracking system and marketing website at parsleyhr.com. Questions about this policy can be sent to privacy@parsleyhr.com.
2. What we collect
We collect only the data necessary to provide the service:
- Account data - your name, email address, and hashed password (or OAuth token if you sign in via a third-party provider).
- Billing data - payment method details processed directly by our payment provider (Stripe). We store only the last four digits of your card and billing address; full card numbers never reach our servers.
- Usage data - log data tied to your account (pages visited, features used, timestamps) that we use to operate, improve, and secure the service.
- Candidate data you submit - resumes, application responses, and notes you or your team add in the course of using ParsleyHR to hire. You are the controller of this data; we process it only on your behalf. See our Data Processing Agreement for details.
- Support communications - emails or chat messages you send to us.
3. What we do not collect
We do not sell personal data. We do not run advertising trackers. We do not require cookies to browse the ParsleyHR marketing site. We do not use your data to train AI models.
4. How we use your data
We use the data we collect to:
- Provide, operate, and improve the ParsleyHR service.
- Process payments and manage your subscription.
- Respond to support requests, bug reports, and account inquiries.
- Send you transactional emails (receipts, password resets, security alerts). We will not send marketing emails without your consent.
- Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents.
- Comply with applicable legal obligations.
5. Legal bases for processing (EEA / UK users)
If you are located in the EEA or UK, we rely on the following legal bases: contract performance (to provide the service you signed up for), legitimate interests (security, fraud prevention, product improvement), legal obligation (tax and regulatory compliance), and consent (marketing communications, where applicable).
6. Data sharing and sub-processors
We share data only with vendors that help us run the service - for example, our hosting provider, payment processor, support tooling, and analytics service. We do not share your data with third parties for their own marketing purposes. A current list of sub-processors is included in our Data Processing Agreement and is available on request at privacy@parsleyhr.com.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data, to restrict or object to certain processing, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@parsleyhr.com. We respond within 30 days.
8. Data retention
We retain account and candidate data for the life of your account plus 90 days after deletion, so you have time to export anything you need. Usage logs are kept for up to 12 months for security and debugging. Billing records are retained as required by applicable tax law.
9. Security
All data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. Access to production systems is limited to a small set of engineers and is audited. We maintain an incident response process and will notify affected users promptly in the event of a breach. To report a security issue, email security@parsleyhr.com.
10. International transfers
ParsleyHR primarily stores and processes data in the United States. If you are in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses (and the UK International Data Transfer Addendum where applicable) for any transfers of personal data outside your jurisdiction.
11. Children
ParsleyHR is a business software product and is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16.
12. Cookies
The ParsleyHR application uses strictly necessary session cookies to keep you logged in. The marketing site uses privacy-preserving, cookieless analytics. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email or in-product notice at least 14 days before they take effect. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
